I have two events that I do every year that I am very proud of. As we approach the Season of Giving (which really should be every day of our lives:), I graciously ask that you considering supporting these efforts.
Purse Power is a collection of gently used handbags for homeless women filled with toiletries, wipes, sanitary products, soap, etc. These purses are presented to women in January.
Operation Love is my brown bag meal effort that I am revising this year. Instead of giving away meals, I want to give something that will allow the homeless community to face brutal winters on the street. I am collecting duffle bags that we will stuff with winter knit hats, gloves, socks, and thermal wear.
You can mail your stuffed duffle bag or purse donation to Dana L. Perry
PO Box 633, Morrow GA 30260. Donations are accepted all year!
In 2013, I hosted this homeless family in my home over the holidays. They stayed with me for 45 days....until they found a place to stay. The support from my partners and friends helped to make a very bad experience for them one in which we turned around. We were able to give the children bikes and toys for Christmas, new clothes and the son wanted NEW NIKE tennis shoes...something he had not had in a long time. It was a joy to watch him shop along with my son for his new kicks. The smile on his face says it all!
We are blessed to be a blessing. Give and watch your what you give be returned to you....in abundance. What we sow is what we reap...this principle applies to ALL things.
LIVE YOUR ABUNDANT LIFE!
